Arupa Music w/ Ben Boe

Following our last event with two uk debuts from Dakpa & our very own Alan Castro we move on to our forth party, with an all London line up. This time we showcase the talents of Ben Boe, Frazer Campbell & label owners Carlos Ryan. Ben has furnished a wide and expansive record collection spanning the breadth of house, techno and the wider electronic music spectrum and If DJing for almost 20 years and running two well-respected record labels wasn’t enough, Ben has been steadily honing his craft in his studio over the past decade with a penchant for modern rhythm boxes, legacy synthesisers and samplers and dusty 12 bit effects units. Ben’s edgy and original sounding solo productions have naturally found their way onto his own imprint as well as super selective Contrast Wax. His remix skills are also in high demand with a very special rework on a classic Italian label on the horizon. Unsurprisingly, Ben’s records have recently been finding the record boxes of heads such as Brawther and XDB. Ben established boe recordings in 2007 and wasted no time in attracting fresh, top-drawer signings. Records from the likes of KiNK, Leif, Anaxander and John Shima have gained support from top-tier jocks including Fred P, Raresh, Mike Huckaby, and François K, with the label garnering a reputation as a stronghold of underground talent; Ben’s second label For Those That Knoe was minted in 2013, and serves as an outlet for the fruits of his digging-based labour: giving a new lease of life for rare, unreleased and almost forgotten tracks from the unsung heroes of vintage house and techno, including Derek Carr and Casey Tucker. It’s a reissue label that gets the job done properly no rip-off controversies here. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the label’s been a hit with some of the scene’s most respected DJs: Panorama Bar residents Steffi and Virginia are big fans. *************************************************************************** The passion with electronic music was cast back in the early 90’s for Frazer where he developed a love for D&B and classic house music. Having floated through various genres, Frazer firmly cast his main DJing preference to thoughtful house music due to its inspiring grooves, captivating soul and subliminal message. Having DJ’d for over 20 years with a little time out in the early 2000’s he continued to develop as a DJ but also as an artist. In 2013 Frazer started releasing productions on labels spanning the globe in Europe, USA and Colombia. Being passionate about his music can also be experienced at a London based party he co owns with Anthony Campbell called ‘Open’ . In early 2016 Open launched its own record label (Open UK Recordings) where Frazer has lead two EPs with highly respected remixers on board. If his timetable was not packed enough he also launched a deeper imprint ‘.elliot.project.’, which explores the deeper side of techno and ambient. Frazer kicked off the first release on this project which too launched in 2016. Frazer Campbell is an individual artist with an extended love of many aspects of the collective we call electronic music.
